The Opalise, crafted by Unix Wear from Opal Suchata’s dream, graced the Miss Universe 2024 Preliminary Night. Inspired by “Opalised,” this classic and timeless gown embodies transformation, resilience, and beauty through adversity, with shimmering pastel hues and an iridescent design reflecting the ethereal essence of the opal stone and Opal’s strength.
Just as an opal is formed under immense pressure and through the merging of natural elements to create its unique, iridescent glow, The Opalise reflects Opal’s story of strength and grace. The gown is a celebration of her transformation, capturing the essence of her journey as a breast cancer survivor and her mission to advocate for women’s health and empowerment. The shimmering, pastel hues of the gown mirror the opal stone’s ethereal beauty, evoking images of a serene sunset, heavenly light, and the radiant spectrum of colors found within a prism.
Every detail of The Opalise was meticulously crafted to bring Opal’s dream dress to life. The design process incorporated hand-poured resin pieces, shaped to mimic the uneven yet captivating fragments of an opal, symbolizing the imperfect yet beautiful facets of her life.
